Your biggest fear.
What is your True Fear?
Your Result: Losing Someone
You love affection and the people in your life more than anything. Your greatest fear is that one day someone you care about won't be there anymore. You are a very friendly and inviting person, who draws in a lot of friendships with your kind, considerate, and loyal nature. However, deep down you are slightly insecure and unsure of yourself. You couldn't deal with it if you didn't have one of your loved ones in your life anymore. You don't have too much to worry about though, because with a friend like you, no one will want to lose you either!
Wild like to have fun. Don't wake up next door. Next time you plan on doing it that long let me know so I can role the cam. I could make some money. Find the person who scored low on this test, and teach them a few things.
For you, life is all about balance. Balancing your independent and dependent side. On some issues you are not likely to be swayed, and you don't let people push you around. But you also recognize how important it is to rely on others, and you are not afraid to trust others. The world would be very imbalanced without people like you.
You are moderately addicted to the Internet. ou may want to consider trying to get away from the machine a little more frequently. Maybe go hiking, or running... somehow I suspect you don't get much exercise.
I was helping my mom fry curry puffs (from 2 to 4pm btw) and I overheard the news on radio. It instantly caught my "ear" as I listened intently to it. It was really weird but I wouldn't discard it though.
LAGOS - Police in Nigeria are holding a goat on suspicion of attempted armed robbery.
Vigilantes took the black and white beast to the police saying it was an armed robber who had used black magic to transform himself into a goat to escape arrest after trying to steal a Mazda 323.
"The group of vigilante men came to report that while they were on patrol they saw some hoodlums attempting to rob a car. They pursued them. However one of them escaped while the other turned into a goat," Kwara state police spokesman Tunde Mohammed told Reuters by telephone.
"We cannot confirm the story, but the goat is in our custody. We cannot base our information on something mystical. It is something that has to be proved scientifically, that a human being turned into a goat," he said.
Belief in witchcraft is widespread in parts of Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation. Residents came to the police station to see the goat, photographed in one national newspaper on its knees next to a pile of straw.
Weird right? I hope they have a follow up on this case. It would be interesting to see how this all unfolds into.
GOAT BABIES, ANYONE?

Fab 5+1 Outing!
Alright, dudes. It's been two days since I went out and I'm still feeling pretty tired. Honestly, I think I overstretched myself on Saturday. Oh well, it was all fun I suppose cause everyone had fun.
Like I said, I met up with my project mates in the early afternoon and then the "Fab 5", as coined by Kinn, in the evening. We first had dinner at Burger King, albeit Hel's constant requests to go THAI EXPRESS. But I suppose, that was overruled.
Anyhow, after that, we met up with Suhaila AKA susu basi at bugis. Where did we go?
What is that?
ZAC CAFE! Yes. Look at that map and you will know how to go. Real damn easy. Walk towards Raffles Hospital and just walk straight!
Me being their spokesperson! Shandy is jealous of me being chosen and Hel is all wasted. :)
On one side, we have Kinn, Me and Shandy!
On the other, we have Hel, Des and Susu!
GROUP PHOTO! And yes, we were shisha-ing. Only Kinn, me and Su. But Su gave up cause she couldn't suck WELL. :) So yeah. Very funny.
ACT DAMN CUTE POSES!
Finally, we have a heck of a time with Sue's scarf/pashmina/tudung! So, we decided to pose.
HEL! Nice turban!
KINN! I had to force it on her.
SHANDY! With the psychotic smile!
And of course, the most chio-est of all, YOURS TRULY!
So, which one is your favorite? All styled by me, of course!
Anyhow, if you wanna head down to Zac Cafe and it's not bad. Pretty nice ambience and relatively good prices, you can take down the address.
Here I am wishing all my CINA friends..... Happy NIU Year! :)
PS: Though I'm not forgiving you all for closing all the shops for TWO days. :(

Alright, so yesterday I thought it would be nice to just unwind and hence, I decided to meet Joel for a movie because it's been EOOOOONNNNNSSS since I last went for a movie. Btw, I can't recall the last movie I watched really. TWILIGHT maybe? And that one I already watched twice in the cinemas and then probably more than 10 times online. TSK TSK.
Anyhow, I watched BRIDE WARS yesterday. Been wantinghttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif to watch it like forever since I first saw the trailer.
Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Liv (Kate Hudson) are best friends who, since childhood, have planned every detail of their weddings. At the top of their bridal "must have" list: a ceremony at New York's ultimate bridal destination, the Plaza Hotel. Now, at age 26, they're both about to get married, they're about to realize their dreams, and they're about to live happily ever after. Or maybe not. When a clerical error causes a clash in wedding dates--they're now to be married on the same date!--Liv, Emma and their lifelong friendship are put to the ultimate test. Liv, a successful lawyer who is used to getting what she wants, including the perfect job and the perfect man, won't settle for anything less than the perfect wedding she has dreamed of for years. Emma, a schoolteacher who has always been good at taking care of others, but not so much in looking after herself, discovers her inner Bridezilla and comes out swinging when her own dream wedding is imperiled. Now, the two best friends who'd do anything for each other find themselves in a no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners struggle that threatens to erupt into all-out war. The girls both attempt to "sabotage" the others weddings, including Liv making Emma's tan go bright red, and Emma sending Liv a "treat" of chocalate cookies in order to make her fat.
I have removed spoilers for you. :D So nice right?
If you are planning to watch something and have a good laugh, this movie is a must watch!

8 hours and satisfied!
For the very first time in my schooling life in poly, THIS is the first day I had more than EIIIIGGGGHHHTTTT hours of sleep.
So, today, instead of being forced to wake up, I voluntarily woke up.
I think I should do this more often. Nice feeling. :)
To commemorate this, here's a song dedication from me to you!
Jesse McCartney's "How Do You Sleep?"

Oh well, technically that meant female dog. What female dog? BITCH, that is.
Anyhow, I was watching America's Funniest Videos the other day and this following video came out. DAMMMMMNNNN FFFUNNNNYYYY!
However, it's only funny when used on a human cause if it was used on animals, I would have heavily disapproved of it. That would have been animal cruelty.
BTW, this video won the first prize!

Laser Quest Mania!
I know I'm waaaaaaay overdue on this post but school is hectic. I'm gonna backdate this because if not, the entries are going to clog up one day's space so yeah.
Anyhow, Charlyn had her I&E event together with Guang You, Kevin and their two other teammates on the 29th December 2008! By right, we were supposed to have fun till the part whereby TWO of our teammates, Charles and LC, bailed out on us. Reason being? They overslept cause they caught the 4am Man U match. WTH? But at least LC was awake by the time we called him. Charles? No reply at all TILL the afternoon. No manners, as usual!
Hence, it was left with me, Sharul, Sue and then Guang You and Kevin substituted in.
First of all, we had the ice breaking games and then we had forfeits. I had do one. Damn unlucky right? Not as much as Sue! She got sabo-ed twice!
These are all the groups and AHEM! our competitors!
WE LOST BTW! However, I scored fourth overall out of the ten players on both teams and emerged the top scorer in my team. Not bad eh? FREDERICK GOT NEGATIVE POINTS. LOL!
After that, we had to do word challenge. We filled up all the blanks!
And here's wrapping up the whole event!
Btw, the place that we visited was HomeTeamNS Bukit Batok. For the Laser Quest, it costs $3.50 for public. And I assure you that it's loads of fun! The other details are as follows:

Top three for XBRL Competition!
Pardon me for the long absence.
Openhouse. Project deadlines. Common Test Results.
I'm so burned out now and just when I thought everything is done, it's not. There are many things left to do.
Econs assignment done. CLAW Report almost finished. TAX2 Presentation needed to be done. CLAW Presentation needed to be done.
And to add on it.
XBRL COMPETITION. WOOOOPPPPPIEEEEE.
It was Saturday morning and I was getting ready to go school. Suddenly, a SMS came in with the following message from Mr Ng Lai Soen, my EAA lecturer.
Congradulations. Your team has been shortlisted to participate in the XBRL Competition. Please nominate your team leader. Decide the dress code and beef up your presentation to improve the chances of securing the no, one spot.
Out of around 30 plus teams, our team got into the top three. I'm so ecstatic now! Our hard work had certainly paid off!
The XBRL Competition is conducted per semester for my course and we have to basically talk about XBRL and make comparisons between Singapore's XBRL and another country's XBRL. For our group, we chose China.
I heard the top prize is $500 bucks! That means, 100 bucks each member in my team. That is, if we win it! Pray for us people!
This semester is on a roll! WOOOOHOOOO. :D

Women think with their brains. Men, with their penises?
I had an assignment for one of my modules, "Understanding Relationship" whereby we had to talk about gender differences. How exactly does that work? Here's my take on it.
There has been a conflict to the definition of gender and sex differences for most of us. We tend to relate both of these definitions as referring to the physical being of oneself. However, they are different. Sex differences simply refer to the physical being of oneself; whether they are born as a male or a female. On the other hand, gender differences refer to the society mindset of how each gender is supposed to act, forcing them to conformity. The latter is what we are focusing on for this assignment.
To me, sometimes things in life don’t work out the way we want it. The society has somehow drafted out how we should behave and we simply conform to it most of the time. After marriage, men are supposed to work and support the family while the wife just stays at home and takes care of the children. Another example of how society has carved out the way gender roles work is when only men are supposed to be good at handy work (like fixing bulbs and broken toilet bowls) while women are exceedingly good at housework and sewing.
In my opinion, this all boils down to stereotyping. As such, we are less inclined to performing activities that are deemed too “manly” or too “feminine”. With that, it seems that men are only allowed to behave and feel in a certain way while women have their own set of code of conduct in which they have to live with. Gender difference may be something that we can change but as mentioned earlier, we are too rigid. This ends up with men and women feeling more inclined about their practice of being right about doing something.
Women tend to talk more about their emotions and focus on creating a rapport in their communication. On the other hand, men are only concerned about analysing issues and solving problems. As such, women always complain that men don’t listen to what they say and then men would always say that women always don’t listen to their advices. The end result would be harsh accusations on each others’ part.
One perfect example would be between me and Sarah.
I have always been a perfectionist when it comes to projects. To me, I have always wanted to be the best and nothing is wrong unless I acknowledge it. There was once during a project that Sarah highlighted about something being wrong.
Sarah: Eh, the sentence structure looks wrong. Should we tweak it? Me: Are you sure? It looks fine to me. I got distinction in English leh. Sarah: Well, I was just saying. Relax ah.
At that point of time, it came across to me that she was putting me down and I got defensive. I felt insulted and couldn’t take the amendment. However, another friend came to me and told me that Sarah had meant no harm and was only trying to fix the way the sentence flowed. While I was more focused on finishing the task (and thus in the process though that everything was already well done), Sarah was more focused on the minute details in ensuring that the whole report would flow breezing. There was an issue of interpretation and understanding on both sides. After Sarah explained her case, indeed I had phrased the sentence wrongly. As a matter of fact, there had been other mistakes done as well.
While a women means A, the men would interpret it as B and vice versa. That’s when miscommunication comes to play.
Just last September, I was on a Community Trip to Cambodia. Two weeks passed just like that and we have to leave for home. The girls were crying (and so did some guys) as we bade them farewell. However, one of my bosom buddies, Charles, didn’t. My curiosity got the better of me and I asked him why he didn’t cry. I knew he was sad to leave but his facial expression was nonchalant. His reply simply told me about how his facade in general portrays how men feel.
“Boys don’t cry. We shed blood. Why should I cry and be like a woman?”
That alone, highlights what most men are made of. There was a need to save their face value. For women, the society views them as vulnerable beings and hence, it is normal to see girls expressing their sadness through their tears. In comparison, men are made to be of steel, and are expected to comfort girls as opposed to crying in such a situation. Men, in this context, want to be on the upper hand and not looked down at. Hence, they do not want to share their feelings for fear of being put in a disadvantage; possibly by other men as well as women. In Charles’ case, he was obviously veering to the society perception that women are more emotionally challenged. Well, this of course is subjective.
In all, gender difference is something we just have to live with. We can try to change it, but conformity is something that society just can’t get rid of easily. In today’s world, more women have turned to being career minded while some of the top chefs are easily men. As such, stereotyping and gender difference is slowly being eradicated; though as much as we would like to eliminate it, the presence is still imminent.
What do you think about it? I want to know your take.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Thanks for all the lovely messages and whatnot. I received pretty much sweet messages embracing the new year from you guys but I couldn't reply cause my hp was being pretty much a bitch and hence it died out on me. I certainly hope that ALL of you had fun, in one way or another in counting down the break of the 2009!
As for me, the celebration went well. For this year, I decided to do something different. Instead of heading down to town, I decided that I was not going to subject myself to the endless throngs of people crushing each other. Not fun at all.
So, I got Hel and Shandy for a small get together. The whole night, we played bowling, cards (Shandy finally learnt how to play daidee), watched Girls Aloud, X Factor Finale and had LJS for breakfast! A fulfilling albeit tiring day. I headed home around 10 plus, bathed and slept all the way till 7pm.
Anyhow, some of the videos of things that we watched yesterday.
Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah
She was up against JLS.
I actually liked both versions pretty well. Both were deserving of being in the finals.
ANNNNNDDDDD. GIRLS ALOUD! Hel made me love them and I'm totally convinced!
Anyhow, I have to blog about the ITE Chapter briefing as well as the LaserQuest Competition. I promise! It's coming sooooonnnnn! Keep your eyes peeled to this space!
